Ripple (XRP) announces on twitter that it stands with Ukraine against the Russian invasion. The global payment solution and crypto company also stated it would be donating $1 million dollars to be split amongst the United Nations Refugee Agency and the World Central Kitchen, 2 organizations heavily entrenched in assisting Ukraine during this difficult time.
CEO of Ripple (XRP) Brad Garlinghouse has recently condemned Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and also reiterated his companies plans to donate to Ukraine and eve. He also stated Ripple is creating a crypto to cash direct giving program for aid to Ukrainian families and matching employee donations 2 to 1. He added, “Over the past few days, it’s been inspiring to see people banding together to show support, within the crypto community and elsewhere. Crypto is, and remains, a force for good.”
The Crypto community fights against the invasion of Ukraine
The crypto community has flexed it’s muscle in recent weeks in efforts to aid and assist Ukraine as it fights against the Russian invasion. As Russia outnumbers Ukraine in the size and capability of it’s military force it has looked for aid to help thwart the Russian forces as well as assist it’s people with needed resources. Ukraine has received an overwhelming amount of crypto donations from the overall space recently totaling over $54 million dollars. Many of the top crypto exchanges and tokens have contributed including Coinbase, Binance and several other prominent exchanges and crypto companies. Most donations have come in via Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH) and USDT to the “Reserve Fund of Ukraine”.
