Google will start accepting crypto payments for cloud services early next year. The payments will be accepted via an integration with the crypto exchange Coinbase.

The partnership was announced Tuesday during Google’s Cloud Next conference. Crypto payments will initially only be offered to a handful of customers involved in the Web3 industry. Google will also use Coinbase’s custody service, named ‘Coinbase Prime’.

The CEO of Google Cloud, Thomas Kurian stated “We want to make building in Web3 faster and easier, and this partnership with Coinbase helps developers get one step closer to that goal.”

Google embracing crypto growth in 2022

Google has been continuously adding to its crypto features and services recently. Google also recently announced the ability to search Ethereum wallets and see the balances via a google search. They also recently partnered with BNB chain to support Web3 growth and blockchain startups. Google also recently showcased a countdown to the Ethereum merge.

It looks like Google has decided to embrace crypto and encourage its usage and growth. We can likely expect addition partnerships and crypto related services and features to come in the future.
